On the occasion of World Ocean Day, Panerai has welcomed the internationally-renowned entrepreneur to its team of Global Ambassadors.

Following the announcement of Panerai and UNESCO’s partnership this April, the Italian watch brand has once again reinforced their position as a strong advocate and driving force for sustainable watchmaking by teaming up with Jeremy Jauncey. The entrepreneur, founder, and CEO of Beautiful Destinations, an award-winning strategy and creative agency for travel businesses, has amassed an impressive social media following of over 30 million. Featuring his wanderlust-inducing social media feed, he is also an avid representative for responsible travel and conservation.

With aligning values and a shared passion for adventure and eco-responsible practices, the newly-formed partnership is only natural and the newly joined ambassador will collaborate with Panerai on projects for the upcoming year.

On top of being an active advocate for responsible travel, Jaunsey has also once been an ambassador for the World Wildlife Fund and GoldStandard.org.

Ever since Panerai has made reducing environmental impact its key objective, the manufacture has consistently demonstrated strong efforts in manufacturing environmentally-conscious timepieces. As seen from the recent Watches and Wonders launches this April, Panerai further strengthened sustainability and eco-responsibility in their DNA as they launched the Submersible eLAB-ID, a watch that is apparently constructed of 98.6% recycled materials.

From the EcoTitanium case to the recycled silicon escape movement, Panerai’s Submersible ELAB-ID is the first watch in the world to be built with close to 100 per cent of its weight coming from recycled-based materials.

On the partnership, Panerai’s CEO Jean-Marc Pontroué has expressed that it was a natural decision: “With projects like the Submersible eLAB-IDTM, the watch with the highest percentage of recycled-based material ever, Panerai has taken the initiative in addressing the environmental impacts of watchmaking. Jeremy is at the forefront of contending with the same issues in the travel sphere and he is a global citizen in the very best sense.”

In line with their aim to raise awareness on being environmentally conscious, Jaucey can be seen wearing the Luminor Marina eSteel™ that is crafted with recycled-based materials.

The sport-chic timepiece is the first Panerai watch to utilize eSteel for its watch, a new type of steel-alloy that incoporates recycled materials. It is noteworthy that almost 60 per cent of the luxury watch consists of recycled materials.
