Montblanc TimeWalker Collection
Montblanc’s new TimeWalker collection pays tribute to Minerva’s extraordinary heritage and takes a journey back to the glory days of motor racing.
As the development of motor racing evolved through the 20th and 21st centuries, the chronograph became a symbol of fair competition and the ultimate reminder that victory can only ever be judged by accurately timed results.
The reference to the Spirit of Racing drove the decision to use a smoked sapphire for the see-through back; the dial’s readability has been improved through applied metallic indexes and Superluminova for low light conditions; red elements have been added to the black background to simulate the feeling of a sports car dashboard; and hands have been sharpened to precisely indicate time.
Additionally, the straps come with racing micro-holes but with the functional trick of rubber to make it more resistant and wearable into the water. A resistant and ergonomic folding clasp with a new design and with fine adjustment feature has been added to the line.
The central second chronograph hand is powerful in terms of design – with its deep red arrow tip directly quoting the hands of counters and stopwatches from Minerva’s rich timekeeping story.
Founded in 1858 in Villeret in the Saint-Imier Valley, Minerva has been a leading specialist in
the fabrication of professional watches. The Manufacture developed stopwatches that could measure 1/5th of a second as early as 1911, rapidly increasing to 1/10th of a second. Minerva Manufacture was one of the first to produce a high-frequency movement that could measure 1/100th of a second, a development that put Minerva on the map as the specialist of professional watches and stopwatches.
Every detail of each TimeWalker tells a chapter of the beauty, spirit and values of motorsport history, and the glorious chronographs that timed these legendary races.
