Although the first-ever Seamaster debuted in 1948, as OMEGA pivoted to making contemporary watches suitable for civilians post-World War II, the watchmaker’s ocean-going endeavours date back much further. Unveiled in 1932, the Marine paved the way with its ingenious design and water resistance. It solidified OMEGA’s reputation as a maker of durable, innovative and excellent watches, laying down the sound foundation from which the Seamaster prospered.
