Light in the Dark: Bell & Ross’s BR-X3 Night Vision Glows with Innovation

The second chapter in the BR-X3 saga, propelling Bell & Ross’s iconic BR-03 into a new contemporary dimension, the BR-X3 Night Vision expands the avant-garde X3 series by adopting the visual efficiency of the head-up night display found in the most sophisticated aircraft. Drawing inspiration from flight instruments has enabled Bell & Ross to develop specific expertise in designing watches with photoluminescent properties, ensuring perfect legibility both day and night. With an innovative construction, its case blends advanced components and cutting-edge materials, cloaked in a luminous techno-futuristic camouflage. Like the two other timepieces in the inaugural BR-X3 trilogy—the BR-X3 Black Titanium and the BR-X3 Blue Steel—the BR-X3 Night Vision houses the BR CAL.323 caliber, a manufacture automatic movement with a five-year warranty. As a professional instrument inspired by nighttime aerial missions, the BR-X3 Night Vision is produced in a limited edition of 250 pieces.

Sophisticated and technical, the 41mm case of the new BR-X3 line features a multi-component, multi-material “sandwich” construction. This design ensures maximum robustness. The two main plates on the BR-X3 Night Vision are crafted in LUM-CAMO, an exceptional high-tech composite combining carbon fiber with a blend of SLN resin. The plates are fastened with four screws housed in protective cylinders. For this special edition, the cylinders are made of green rubber, also photoluminescent, enhancing the watch’s visual properties in darkness far beyond the display of time. The middle case, sandwiched between the two plates, comes in titanium coated with black PVD.

Like all instrument watches in the BR-X3 series, the BR-X3 Night Vision houses the BR-CAL.323 caliber within its 41mm multi-material case. This self-winding mechanical movement was specially developed by Kenissi Manufacture for Bell & Ross. Equipped with 70 hours of power reserve, the movement has been certified by the ultimate authority in precision – the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).

With remarkable performance, the BR-X3 Night Vision completes the range of avant-garde X3 instrument watches, which debuted with the BR-X3 Black Titanium—crafted in titanium and inspired by stealth aircraft design—and the BR-X3 Blue Steel, a more precious, contemporary timepiece whose color code—polished steel and sky blue—evokes a space flight suit. In this journey from Earth to space, Bell & Ross now adds a captivating new dimension: night flight. The BR-X3 trilogy relies on enhanced performance to push boundaries. The “X” code, often used by scientists and engineers to designate experimental or extreme projects, marks the most advanced evolution of the iconic BR-03 line—through which Bell & Ross translates the functionality of flight instruments designed for professional pilots into a wristwatch. In terms of technical functionality as well as graphic and aesthetic boldness, the concept of the instrument watch reaches its ultimate expression.
