A Constellation of Diamonds: BR-05 Blue Diamond Eagle 36mm

The dial of the BR-05 Blue Diamond Eagle 36MM is a tableau where each stone intensely reflects the light and shines brilliantly. A true work of art to wear on the wrist, the BR-05 Blue Diamond Eagle 36MM embodies the fusion of material science, micro-engineering and artisanal craftsmanship. The exact position of each star in the constellation is represented by a diamond set on the aventurine dial. The largest one, positioned between 10 and 11 o’clock, represents the bird’s head and the star Altair, the largest and brightest star in the constellation. Three other medium-sized diamonds represent the wings and tail. Three additional stones – one medium-sized and two small – complete the outline of the constellation. Together with the twelve stones marking the hours, the dial of the BR-05 Blue Diamond Eagle features eighteen diamonds in three different sizes. Reproducing the exact alignment of the stars in the Eagle constellation requires micron-precision drilling and specific gem-setting expertise due to the unique nature of the dial. Each diamond is set into a custom-made brass support secured by four prongs. This support is then inserted with great precision into the holes drilled into the dial. This stage is crucial: every movement must be precise and perfectly measured to avoid placing stress on the glass and to ensure the stability of the stones on the dial. A delicate balance resulting from the combination of the Swiss workshops’ technical expertise and their excellence in gem-setting craftsmanship.
