Montblanc Iced Sea 0 Oxygen

Finding inspiration in the elements, Montblanc presents a reimagined take of its Iced Sea Automatic Date 0 Oxygen timepiece featuring a distressed steel finish. To achieve this, Montblanc has treated the stainless steel case and bracelet with a black coating, which is then distressed by washing and brushing with quartzite, a very hard mineral sourced from the Mont Blanc mountain itself. This process results in a blackened, distressed appearance that offers an organic aesthetic.

A signature of the Montblanc Iced Sea collection, the timepiece features a glacier pattern dial which has been created to mirror the colour and texture of ice. The pattern is crafted using a special technique called gratté-boisé as the base, giving the dial the impression of depth and luminosity. This time-consuming process takes four times longer than a standard dial to complete and requires over 30 separate steps. The result captures the texture of glacial ice with its interlocking network of crystals that have been frozen in time for millennia.

The distressed grey colourway achieved on the case and bracelet are continued onto the glacier-pattern dial with a grey sfumato finish. This treatment adds visual depth and heightened legibility to this adventure-oriented watch.
