The Montblanc 1858 product line is inspired by the professional Minerva watches from the 1920s and 1930s which were conceived for military use and exploration. Reinterpreting these historical timepieces, the Montblanc 1858 product line expresses the spirit of mountain exploration, embodying the modern trend of returning to nature.

The Montblanc 1858 Geosphere Limited Edition 1858 is dedicated to the world’s Seven Summit mountaineering challenge, the holy grail of mountaineering adventures. It comes in a 42 mm bronze case combined with beige and contrasting brown design details, finding inspiration in the colors of the desert. The timepiece features a manufacture world-time complication developed by the Montblanc watchmakers in Villeret: two domed globes, turning in opposite directions, that complete a full rotation in 24 hours. Both are surrounded by a scale with the 24 time zones, along with a day and night indication in contrasting colors. This provides an instinctive way of appreciating the different time zones, aided by the luminescent continents for increased visibility and performance at night. The timepiece is completed with a brown sfumato calf leather strap with beige stitching.

Where most GMT timepieces indicate the second time zone with an additional hand, the Montblanc 1858 GMT features a GMT indication without hands that is very intuitive and highly legible. The Montblanc 1858 GMT indicates the second time zone with a red square that moves around the outside of the dial. This red square is positioned next to a fixed blue anodized aluminum bezel with a 24-hour clock. This system also indicates half hours. Other functions include a date and central seconds hand. The timepiece is housed in a 42 mm stainless steel case and comes with a black sunray dial as well as a tapered interchangeable stainless steel bracelet with fine adjustment for precision fitting. An engraving on the case back shows the continents, oceans, and names of cities in each of the 24 time zones, offering a world time indication.

The Montblanc Bohème Day & Night 30mm depicts a fairytale scene with fluffy mother-of-pearl clouds and a day & night disc that shows whether it is daytime or nighttime thanks to different gradients of blue sky enhanced with rays of light. As the sun rises, the moon sets and vice versa. But at midnight, the sun and moon meet. The timepiece is housed in a 30mm stainless steel case and features a dial with rose gold-coated floral indexes, eight diamond indexes, and a blue date in an almond-shaped aperture. The watch is powered by an automatic movement that is visible through a sapphire case back and comes with a choice of two leather straps that can be easily changed thanks to Montblanc’s interchangeable strap system.
