Alpine Eagle - Official Movie: a New Watch Icon by Chopard

Contemporary, refined and assertive, the new Alpine Eagle sports chic timepiece collection is a state-of-the-art reinterpretation of the St. Moritz, the first watch created in 1980 by Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, now co-president of Chopard. Imagined and personally designed by him, Alpine Eagle is driven by his passion for the Alps and by the lofty power of the eagle that reigns supreme there. Crafted from an exclusive, ultra-resistant and light-reflecting metal named Chopard Lucent Steel A223, it beats to the rhythm of a Chopard chronometer-certified movement. This new collection was born of four years of tireless research and three generations of savoir-faire. The Alpine Eagle collection has officially landed.

Official Chopard Retailer

Chopard is internationally renowned for its timepiece and jewellery creations.

Chopard’s Happy Sport collection for ladies features some of its most famous timepieces, which are replete with floating diamonds glittering from within their cases. Unsurprisingly, Chopard is also known for its Haute Joaillerie, or fine jewellery creations. The brand has successfully married its unparalleled metallurgical and jewellery-making skills with its superb watchmaking competencies to make some truly iconic watches, such as the 1976 Happy Diamonds watch for men and their premium L.U.C. watches. Chopard watches also fetch some of the highest prices at illustrious auction houses worldwide.

Loyal to its fundamental values of traditional and ethical watchmaking, Chopard is deeply involved in the work of various cultural organisations that help to raise its profile. Chopard is a longstanding partner of the Cannes International Film Festival as well as prestigious races such as the Mille Miglia in Italy and the Historic Grand Prix Of Monaco.

Championing Ethical Luxury

Chopard has been accelerating its sustainability initiatives, armed with the belief that fine watchmaking and sustainability can go hand-in-hand. Since 2017, Chopard has been involved with the Swiss Better Gold Association (SBGA), a Swiss non-profit organisation, championing for socially inclusive and environmentally responsible practices across all levels in the gold supply chain. As of July 2018, all of the gold used in Chopard products are 100% ethically produced. Chopard only sources from mines participating in the Swiss Better Gold initiative, or in Fairmined and Fairtrade certification frameworks.

In The Company Of Greatness

Aside from its horological and Haute Joaillerie pursuits, Chopard has made brushing shoulders with giants in other fields such as film and automobile racing, into a finely honed tradition. Since 1988, Chopard has been the primary sponsor of the Mille Miglia, a race involving only vintage cars on the scenic roads of Italy. The Trophée Chopard prize and the Palme d’Or trophy for the world’s most prestigious film festival – the Cannes Film Festival, are crafted by none other than Chopard’s incomparable metallurgists.

As one of the world’s most renowned luxury watchmakers, Chopard has also been fulfilling its obligations as the Historical Grand Prix of Monaco’s official timekeeper since 2002.
