TAG Heuer’s Carrera Extreme Sport Collection Hits a New Gear For 2025 - Cortina Watch Malaysia

TAG Heuer sets the pace for 2025 with two powerful new expressions of the TAG Heuer Carrera Extreme Sport collection. These timepieces continue to shape the brand’s modern motorsport identity, uniting function-driven design with elevated watchmaking.

Precision, innovation, and visual impact converge in these releases. The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport Twin-Time introduces a new GMT chronograph complication to the collection, engineered for those who navigate multiple time zones with purpose and speed. Alongside it, a full gold chronograph redefines the notion of sport-luxury, offering a bold reinterpretation of precious materials through the lens of technical performance.

A Powerful Background

Born from the spirit of one of the most dangerous and celebrated races in motorsport history, the TAG Heuer Carrera collection was named by Jack Heuer after the Carrera Panamericana, an unforgiving test of speed and endurance across the Mexican landscape. It was a name chosen to represent adrenaline, resilience, and precision. From its earliest days, the TAG Heuer Carrera became a symbol of clarity in design and purpose in performance.

Decades later, that heritage continues to shape the direction of TAG Heuer’s most dynamic creations. Building on a new vision introduced in 2024, TAG Heuer continues to evolve the TAG Heuer Carrera Extreme Sport collection in 2025. This year’s launches expand the line’s functional and stylistic range with two bold statements: the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport Twin-Time and the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport in solid rose gold. Each carries forward the momentum of the collection while introducing new levels of complication and craftsmanship.

Extreme Precision Across Time Zones

TAG Heuer continues to push the limits of functional design with the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Twin Time, a bold travel companion built for those who live and move across time zones. Whether tracking international race calendars or staying connected around the globe, its integrated dual time function delivers precision with purpose.

This is the first time a GMT function has been brought into the TAG Heuer Carrera Extreme Sport line, and it arrives with a strong visual identity. Teal green is now firmly established as the defining color for GMT within the TAG Heuer Carrera collection, appearing prominently on the rubber strap, central hand, across the dial accents, and on the openworked date disc featuring white Super-LumiNova® for improved legibility at night. The dial showcases the TH20-02 automatic chronograph GMT movement, which builds on TAG Heuer’s in-house chronograph legacy. Featuring a vertical clutch, column wheel, shield shaped rotor, and an extended 80-hour power reserve, it also offers bidirectional winding and comes with a five-year warranty.

A bold step in material design, the bezel evolves into a fully ceramic, two-tone construction, crafted for the first time at TAG Heuer from a single block of dual-colored ceramic. This rare and demanding process in watchmaking delivers a seamless surface with a sharp, clean transition between the two colors, combining elevated design with improved durability and increased robustness.

Designed for versatility, the case architecture is athletic yet refined. The hollowed-out flanks and sleek side profile create a lighter, more streamlined appearance while enhancing wrist comfort. At the center of the dial, the TAG Heuer shield serves as a visual anchor, tying together the openworked elements with clarity and purpose. The racing-inspired design continues with subdials that echo the look of dashboard instruments. On the caseback, the engraved Victory Wreath – symbolizing triumph and excellence – adds a final, subtle tribute to the watch’s deep connection to performance and legacy.

This chronograph joins the core collection as a standout addition, offering practical dual-time functionality in a package that feels entirely true to the high-performance spirit of TAG Heuer Carrera Extreme Sport.

Performance Cast in Precious Metal

Pushing performance into a more precious realm, the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport brings a striking new energy to the collection. Its design channels the racetrack and the raw adrenaline of motorsport, now reinterpreted through the lens of contemporary luxury.

This latest launch presents the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport in its most elevated form: a bold chronograph crafted in solid 18-carat rose gold, both case and bezel, an audacious statement of modern luxury rooted in racing performance.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Extreme Sport in solid rose gold redefines what a sports chronograph can be. It retains the fundamental TAG Heuer racing codes while introducing unmistakably high-end materials and finishes. The rose gold case is sculpted with a dynamic mix of brushed and polished surfaces, catching and playing with light to emphasize the strong geometry of the TAG Heuer Carrera case. This refined treatment creates contrast and visual depth, underlining the power of the silhouette.

The openworked dial mirrors this approach. Key visual elements, from the hands and sub-counters to the flange and date disc, are all detailed in rose gold, creating a rich and unified composition. At its center sits the TAG Heuer shield, framed by the transparency effect that reveals the movement beneath.

At the heart of the watch is the TH20-00 automatic chronograph movement, developed in-house by TAG Heuer. This high-performance caliber features a vertical clutch and column wheel along with bidirectional automatic winding and an impressive 80-hour power reserve. The movement is finished with a shield-shaped rotor. The caseback is engraved with the Victory Wreath. The timepiece also comes with a five-year warranty.

This 18K rose gold chronograph’s presence within the TAG Heuer Carrera Extreme Sport line extends the collection’s language, showing how it can express different facets of TAG Heuer’s design and watchmaking expertise.

This is where the language of motorsport meets the craftsmanship of modern watchmaking.

Celebrating 75 Years of Formula 1® Racing With The Champions Who Defined Victory

TAG Heuer continues the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Formula 1® with the launch of the TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Extreme Sport | F1® 75th Anniversary Limited Edition, an extraordinary timepiece that celebrates both the elite motor racing competition and the enduring legacy of the TAG Heuer Carrera collection. Limited to just 75 individually numbered pieces, this new creation conveys the Maison’s “Designed to Win” philosophy, marrying unrivaled technical mastery with a deep homage to motorsport’s champions.

A Heritage Forged in Racing

Since its debut in 1963, the TAG Heuer Carrera has been synonymous with motor racing excellence. Inspired by the legendary Carrera Panamericana Road race, Jack Heuer envisioned a timepiece that combined technical precision, legibility, and racing spirit – values that continue to drive the collection forward today.

The 1970s proved to be a defining era as Jack Heuer struck a groundbreaking partnership with Ferrari, making Heuer the team’s official timekeeper. At Ferrari’s new Fiorano test track, Heuer developed the innovative Le Mans Centigraph system, a state-of-the-art device that enabled precise lap timing and data analysis. The system became an essential tool for Ferrari’s rise to dominance. In 1975, Ferrari clinched both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships, victories in which Heuer’s technology played an integral role.

This bold sponsorship not only revolutionized motorsport partnerships but also cemented Heuer’s reputation as the watchmaker of Formula 1®. From those early decades to today’s role as Official Timekeeper of Formula 1®, TAG Heuer has consistently shaped the intersection of horology and motorsport. Legendary ambassadors such as the incomparable Ayrton Senna and today’s four-time World Champion Max Verstappen represent the relentless pursuit of excellence that lies at the heart of TAG Heuer’s DNA.

A Tribute to the Champions

The TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Extreme Sport | F1® 75th Anniversary Limited Edition is a tribute to the 75 World Champions crowned since 1950. Each of the 75 pieces is uniquely personalized with a year engraved on the case back, spanning from the inaugural 1950 season to 2024. A golden Victory Wreath, a symbol of a triumph, adorns both the case back engraving and the sapphire glass, underscoring the spirit of victory.

This concept of celebrating champions resonates directly with TAG Heuer’s “Designed to Win” campaign, introduced in 2025. Inspired by Ayrton Senna’s iconic words – “I’m not designed to come second or third. I’m designed to win”, the campaign embodies mental strength, resilience, and peak performance. This limited edition translates that ethos into watchmaking form, offering collectors a piece of F1® history dedicated to the pursuit of victory.

A Bold Evolution of the Carrera Extreme Sport

Part of the TAG Heuer Carrera Extreme Sport collection, this limited edition elevates TAG Heuer’s boldest design codes. Its 44mm fine-brushed, sandblasted titanium case is paired with a striking solid 18K yellow gold fixed bezel and a polished black DLC titanium Grade-5 crown and pushers, symbolizing both modern endurance and timeless prestige. The integrated black rubber strap and matching black DLC titanium buckle ensure a comfortable, sporty fit, perfectly complementing the timepiece’s performance-driven design. The signature openworked dial, enhanced with 18K yellow gold-plated finishings, rhodium-plated indexes, and hours and minutes hands, highlights the chronograph function while ensuring exceptional legibility – true to Jack Heuer’s original vision. Silver chronograph counters with an azurage finishing at 9 and 3 o’clock and 18K yellow gold-plated chronograph hands provide both contrast and precision, while a black tachymeter scale encircles the dial for timing performance.

A silver Formula 1® logo proudly marks the 12 o’clock on the tachymeter, while the official F1® 75 silver logo marks the 75 on the tachymeter and features prominently on the bezel and caseback, connecting the design directly to the 75 F1® World champions.

Transparency remains a defining feature, with the openworked dial offering a full view of the in-house Calibre TH20-09 Tourbillon. This movement features a 65-hour power reserve, a column wheel, and a vertical clutch, delivering uncompromising precision. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the decorated mechanics are accentuated by a golden Victory Wreath decalque. A checkered flag motif is subtly visible in transparency through the dial, evoking the Formula 1® finish line and reinforcing the watch’s motorsport spirit.

The timepiece comes in a specially designed presentation black box featuring the official F1® 75 logo, TAG Heuer logos, and a tribute to the Victory Wreath. While each timepiece is individually engraved with its championship year, the packaging unites the collection under the shared spirit of motorsport mastery. Every detail, from case to dial, strap to movement, celebrate the precision, and performance known to TAG Heuer.
