Longines Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve - Cortina Watch

Timeless elegance and technical excellence, expressed through a function like no other.

Longines unveils a new interpretation of its Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve, reaffirming a legacy defined by heritage, creative spirit and technical excellence. Following the 2024 edition – created to mark the 70th anniversary of the Conquest collection – this new release extends the line’s evolution with a sense of natural continuity. Distinguished by its unique central power reserve function, the timepiece features a light blue opaline dial and is offered in two refined variations, paired with either a stainless-steel bracelet or a grey leather strap. This latest iteration introduces contemporary elements while preserving the collection’s distinctive aesthetic and technical codes, a testament to Longines’ enduring pursuit of timeless elegance.`

Since its launch in 1954, the Conquest collection has embodied the very essence of Longines’ heritage and innovative vision. It was the first Longines line to have its name officially protected by the Federal Intellectual Property Office in Bern, Switzerland, marking a defining moment in the brand’s history. Combining performance with elegant design, the collection has become a symbol of enduring timeless elegance.

A heritage revisited, a unique complication

Drawing on a remarkable 1959 Longines timepiece, the Conquest Heritage Central Power Reserve reflects a strong vintage design inspiration, reinterpreted through modern watchmaking mastery. At the heart of its identity lies a distinctive display, invented by Longines and used exclusively by the brand.

Positioned at the centre of the dial, the power reserve is indicated through two rotating discs. A baton-shaped indicator reveals the remaining energy on an external disc graduated from ‘64’ to ‘0’ hours, offering a dynamic and intuitive reading of the watch’s autonomy. As the watch is worn or wound, the outer disc rotates continuously from 0 to 64 hours, bringing a subtle dynamic to the dial.

This historic function is now expressed through two new finely executed variations. The light blue opaline dial, paired either with a stainless-steel bracelet or a grey leather strap, introduces a more contemporary aesthetic while preserving the elegance of its heritage design.

Technical excellence and fine craftsmanship

Demonstrating Longines’ unwavering commitment to innovation, these models are powered by the Longines exclusive calibre L896.5. This self-winding mechanical movement, equipped with a silicon balance-spring, ensures high precision, resistance to magnetic fields and long-term reliability, while delivering a power reserve of up to 72 hours.

The 38 mm stainless-steel case, with alternating satin-brushed and polished finishes, reflects the elegant spirit of the collection. It features a screw-down transparent case back and a crown bearing the winged hourglass emblem. A box sapphire crystal with multi-layer anti-reflective coating guarantees optimal legibility, while water resistance up to 5 bar (50 metres) enhances everyday practicality.

The light blue opaline dial is punctuated by silvered applied indexes and “skyscraper”-style hands treated with Super-LumiNova®, ensuring excellent readability in all lighting conditions while preserving a refined aesthetic. A trapezoid-framed date display at 12 o’clock adds a distinctive signature.

The stainless-steel bracelet presents a seamless, contemporary aesthetic, featuring a double-folding safety clasp with push-piece opening and an integrated micro-adjustment system for enhanced comfort and a tailored fit.

Alternatively, the grey leather strap version, secured with a heritage pin buckle, reinforces the watch’s vintage character.
