Since its debut in 1904, the Santos de Cartier watch has maintained an iconic presence within Cartier’s repertoire of shaped timepieces. Its design continues to embody both performance and innovation, making it a timeless classic.
The Santos was the first wristwatch specifically designed to be worn on the wrist, created by Louis Cartier in 1904 for his friend, aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, enabling him to check the time while flying. Louis Cartier’s original design — a distinctive square case accented with eight exposed screws — has since become a hallmark of Cartier’s watchmaking artistry.
At Cartier, watchmaking is a celebration of fashion and elegance above all else. Every design begins with a pure sketch and clean lines, prioritizing aesthetics while pushing the boundaries of craftsmanship.
Symbolizing Cartier’s pioneering spirit, the Santos watch perfectly embodies the union of creativity and technical mastery.
This June, the Santos de Cartier collection will expand with the launch of a new small-size model, further broadening the reach of this iconic timepiece that captures the fearless spirit of men. The new size will be available in yellow gold, yellow gold and steel, and full steel versions.
