In a cosmic twist worthy of a Greek tragedy – gently coddled in uncertainty with a dash of melodrama – an egg nestled decadently on a gingham tablecloth and stared deeply, unnervingly into the eyes of a chicken and proclaimed:
“Right. Enough suspense. Which of us came first then?”
The chicken, caught off guard and vaguely affronted, flapped her wings in a diva-esque flourish. But at that very moment – somewhere between existential dread and the rising panic of fright or flight – the far horizon lit up with a blinding flash of light. A light so bright that it sent a shudder through every shell and left every feather in a flap.
It was the dawn of the Pioneer Centre Seconds Sunny-Side Up.
